The CPCS Traffic Marshalling course gives you the ability to guide the traffic of on-site plant vehicles and machinery.

Traffic Marshalls ensure the safe movement of site traffic, assessing risks and providing clear communications on space and direction to operators.

The Traffic Marshall works in tandem with the Banksman, who direct the operation of a specific vehicle, as well as site access traffic marshals, who direct vehicles entering and leaving the site.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Learners will be taught about their duties to operators on-site, and the regulations in place.

Learners will know the specific uses and limitations of all plant vehicles and machinery, and the risk factors they must assess when marshalling.

Learners will be able to create an adequate traffic plan for a set construction plant, allowing for proper operation of all machinery and vehicles.

Learners will be shown every type of proximity hazard, how to identify them and plan ahead to avoid them.

Learners will be shown the safe positioning of every vehicle and machine on site, so they can assess safety of vehicle operations.

Learners will be taught the correct signals and etiquette for delivering instructions and information to operators.

Learners will know how to inform all workers in proximity of the intended movement of a vehicle on-site and how to prepare the operator to start moving
