Construction is one of the most important industries, but also one of the most understaffed. But, the struggle to maintain labour is not just a skill issue - workers need support to stay in work.
RMF are proud supporters of CITB’s mentoring scheme, helping workers new to a construction role with staying in work and progressing their career.
WHY MENTORING?
Many workers in the UK face multiple barriers to work, and not just in the construction industry. The cost of living crisis, house insecurities, and increasing needs for accessible transport and childcare, as well as health issues, can put a lot of demand on working adults.
CITB innovated the mentoring scheme as a way of identifying all possible barriers to work that construction workers can face on a regular basis, so they can help remove them once and for all.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR MENTORING?
Must be new to a construction role.
This includes experienced construction workers who are brand new to a type of role. For example, a groundsworker starting their first ADT driving role.

While our courses are designed for adults aged 19+, we welcome 18 year olds in construction to apply for mentoring with us.
