MENTORING SCHEME FOR CONSTRUCTIONWORKERS
STAY IN TOUCH,STAY IN WORK
Construction is one of the most important industries, but also one of the most understaffed. But, the struggle to maintain labour is not just a skill issue - workers need support to stay in work. RMF are proud supporters of CITB’s mentoring scheme, helping workers new to a construction role with staying in work and progressing their career.
Many workers in the UK face multiple barriers to work, and not just in the construction industry. The cost of living crisis, house insecurities, and increasing needs for accessible transport and childcare, as well as health issues, can put a lot of demand on working adults.
CITB innovated the mentoring scheme as a way of identifying all possible barriers to work that construction workers can face on a regular basis, so they can help remove them once and for all.
